Enrichment
Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory
During the third term, the whole school departs from the normal curriculum and participates in various activities, which are stimulating and enriching. These include bringing in specialists to speak, perform or teach and taking classes on unusual outings. The Grade 6 and 7 girls participate in Panorama Day which involves a wide range of craft workshops and other activities which would not normally fall into the classroom curriculum but which are fascinating and enriching.
In addition, The Herschel Pre-Preparatory has been at the forefront of providing a number of conferences for both teachers and parents during the last few years. One teacher summed it up perfectly as being "Chicken Soup for the Teachers' Soul." It provides the opportunity to network with colleagues and parents and to learn from the stimulating discussions presented by guest speakers.

The Enrichment Programme is designed to take place over a week. During this time Grades 8,9,10 and 11 pursue a programme that moves away from subjects and the formal curriculum. By inviting speakers and participating in excursions and seminars, a wider awareness of the world is created. The activities are designed to instill independent and collaborative learning, critical thinking and the development of higher thinking skills, incorporating analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
