During the short holiday break, Ms Beeton and Ms Webster spent a day at the Eco-Schools Showcase being held in Hermanus.  They set up a PowerPoint Presentation to showcase all our eco activities here at Herschel in the Exhibition Hall, which delegates were able to view throughout the morning.  During the morning session they attended some very inspiring talks on Eco-Schools' programmes and community eco projects in the Overstrand area and as far afield as Limpopo. During the afternoon delegates were divided into activity groups to experience the different outdoor activities that can be done in the Hermanus area. Both Ms Beeton and Ms Webster ended up sea kayaking - setting out from the Old Harbour through rough waves and into the open sea where the swells were reaching three or more metres - breathtakingly exciting - but definitely something we won't be doing with our young Prep girls!

At the Eco-Schools showcase we were presented with our certificate for participation in the Eco-Schools Programme for 7 years and were also, in recognition of this achievement, were presented with a large solar cooker and a hot box to utilise in teaching and eco activities.
