Eco Club -Biodiversity Expo at Kirstenbosch
Other News
Last Friday 9 pupils, 3 teachers and some parents attended the Biodiversity Expo at Kirstenbosch. It was very interactive, with many Cape Town conservation organizations and also others from further afield showcasing the work they are doing to maintain biodiversity. The girls learnt what biodiversity is and why it is important. Highlights were the opportunities to handle snakes and spiders, to stroke a rock-hopper penguin, to look through microscopes at plant materials and miniscule animals, and to view exhibits illustrating such things as water-wise/indigenous gardening and saving water. It was a most worthwhile outing. Many thanks to the parents who provided lifts and who accompanied the group.
