Over the past week the Grade Four girls have been very busy making "Number Books" for the Grade Ones at Kewtown Primary. On Wednesday we visited the Grade Ones there. We took our home-made books, some books to donate to them for their library and our favourite books to read to them. The outing was a huge success. This is what some of the girls had to say: "Going to Kewtown School was amazing! Seeing those less fortunate children make you think about how lucky we are ... Seeing the looks on their faces when they got their first book was just too special for words. It was great to be able to enrich some-one else's life." Emily Williams.
"I couldn't believe how tiny they were. They had such skinny legs and big brown eyes, which were so adorable." Kitty Fisher. "It felt strange stepping into a school that wasn't as privileged as us. When we gave the books to them, they were shy, but you could just see a small smile all over their faces and feel a burst of delight!" "The best part for me (apart from reading to the children) was when we played that game where everybody joined in." Many thanks to those mums who drove us there, as well as those who donated books. They were very gratefully received.
