More about Footloose: Life in small-town Bomont, USA, is peaceful until Ren McCormack - the city boy with the over-active sneakers - arrives and clashes with Reverend Shaw Moore, Bomont's authority figure. Challenging every one of Moore's opinions and breaking every taboo, Ren brings dance back to the heart of a town held back by the memory of a tragedy. He takes on the town. And wins. The talented and energetic company has been hard at work since the fourth term last year preparing for what promises to be a theatrical experience to remember. Nicholas Golding and Michael Weaver share the leading role of Ren McCormack. The preacher's daughter, Ariel Moore - the highly sought-after lead role playing opposite Ren - is played by Jade Hubner and Margeaux Malherbe respectively. Also appearing are Tim Dennis and Tammy De Klerk as the Reverend Shaw Moore and his long-suffering wife Vi and Sive Gubangxa and Dean De Klerk as Rusty and Willard. They are joined on stage by a charismatic cast of 75. Footloose hits the stage running with classic '80s anthems including ‘Holding Out For A Hero', ‘Almost Paradise', ‘Somebody's Eyes', ‘Let's Hear It For The Boy' and, of course, the title song, ‘Footloose'. With a soundtrack that has sold over 16 million copies worldwide, these hit songs have undeniably transformed into modern day anthems. Based on the hit 1984 movie, ‘Footloose - The Musical' has become a global stage musical phenomenon.
