Herschel Girls School has  won the South African Council for English Education annual spelling competition once again and now retain the floating trophy.   The competition, for Grade 8 learners in the Western Cape, drew  2402 participants this year.  These twenty-eight Herschel girls made no errors at all and 15 of their classmates each had one word only incorrect.  It is the fifth year that Herschel has won the trophy, which means that every grade in the school went home with it in their Grade 8 year.
