The final round of the Johann Vos piano competition for high school pupils in the Western Cape took place on 24 August in the Hugo Lamprechts Music Centre.  Mr Johann Vos, sole sponsor of the competition for the last 20 years, handed over the cheque for the first place in the senior section to Ann Kim, a grade 12 pupil at Herschel Girls School.  This is the second consecutive year that a Herschel pupil has won.
