At the recent Cape Town Eisteddfod, Herschel Grade 12 pupils Sarah Acton, Rachel Potter, Jess Boolsen, Alison Rothman and Jessica Rockey discussed the topic, “Can the Police be trusted?”, in the Forum Discussion category.  Under the chairmanship of Jess Boolsen, the group was awarded a Diploma and also won the Carol Ilion Award for the best high school forum discussion group.
