Samantha Hayward, a Grade 10 pupil, has been informed by the Director of the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists that the project which she entered into the Expo in her Grade 9 year has been selected for participation in the Taiwan National Schools Science Fair.  The participating regions selected 552 projects for the National Expo Finals, where Samantha’s project on Body Mass Index won a Gold medal.  She also won the Junior Health Care Category and was awarded the Lancet (Health Care) First Prize.  Samantha’s project is one of two South African entrants that have been selected for the Taiwan Fair.
