Samantha Hayward of Claremont, a pupil at Herschel Girls School, with the trophy which was awarded to her for the third place in the Medical and Health category of the Taiwan International Science Fair.  Samantha, now in Grade 10, was the youngest participant at the Fair in Taipei. Present at the Prize-Giving, was the  President of the People’s Republic of Taiwan, but Samantha was mostly impressed by the ordinary people of Taiwan. “They are all so friendly and welcoming. People are also very motivated; everyone is busy, everyone is working,” said Samantha. She also enjoyed interacting with all the other young scientists from all over the world.
