Boarding at Arderne House

Arderne House is the weekly boarding facility. Situated above the Administration Building, the House can accommodate up to 36 boarders and welcomes temporary boarders if space allows. As of 2024, Arderne House will no longer be available for boarding for incoming pupils. In December 2024 the House will be closing its doors permanently after 102 years of operating.

It is a convenient, safe, and nurturing facility, affording the pupils a comfortable and homely boarding experience. This small and somewhat quirky space is a home away from home where lifelong friendships are made.

Boarders receive documents outlining clothing requirements, boarding regulations and visiting times so that they know what to expect and can flourish in this environment.

School Song

We are assembled here in love,
We are united, we care for one another.
The greatest lesson of all is the one
That teaches us to live together, together.

Refrain:
Everyone’s a spark and in the night
Together we make a light, a fire burning bright
Ad Dei Gloriam; Inkosi mayibongwe:
To the glory of our God: this is what we believe.

In times of trouble we support
Our fellows; we are taught to be there for our friends.
And all around us, there will be
That special unity, that binds us all together.

If we come back after many years,
We will think fondly of the things that we remember,
And the friends that we made then,
These will be friends forever, forever.
