This week at our Senior School Assembly we welcomed Hayley McLellan, Environmental Campaign Manager for the Two Oceans Aquarium, who addressed the girls and staff about the consequences of plastic destroying our environment.
She challenged us to make Herschel a “plastic bag FREE zone” and to no longer bring any plastic bags to school. Furthermore, she urged us to be more conscientious of recycling, and the school will be implementing various additional recycling initiatives to assist with this, including carton bins being placed in each classroom, and an Interhouse “Ecobrick” competition.
