Matric Dance 2021

This week’s edition is a bumper issue! We have been able to revert to levels of activity under Lockdown Level 1 and host some important rite of passage functions/ceremonies.
This year’s Matric Dance was hosted at the Kenilworth Racecourse. It was an elegant and beautiful occasion at which the matrics shone! The Grade 11 Dance Committee, led by Lauren Searll, outdid themselves and from the drop-off to the parade, the mocktails and canapés, the first dance, dinner and Haadiyah’s speech, right to the packed dance floor and the bottleneck at the dessert trolley, it was the most wonderful evening. These photographs will give you an idea of the fun that the matrics and their partners had at this beautiful venue.

School Song

We are assembled here in love,
We are united, we care for one another.
The greatest lesson of all is the one
That teaches us to live together, together.

Refrain:
Everyone’s a spark and in the night
Together we make a light, a fire burning bright
Ad Dei Gloriam; Inkosi mayibongwe:
To the glory of our God: this is what we believe.

In times of trouble we support
Our fellows; we are taught to be there for our friends.
And all around us, there will be
That special unity, that binds us all together.

If we come back after many years,
We will think fondly of the things that we remember,
And the friends that we made then,
These will be friends forever, forever.
