Our girls continue to make us proud! Below is a roundup of more fantastic sports achievements from our squash and hockey girls.
SQUASH:
Reese Bain played for Western Province in the Jarvis Cup. Jarvis is the senior version of the Schools’ Interprovincial Tournament. At the end of the tournament she was awarded the most promising player award, and we look forward to a promising future for Reese!
Rebecca Glanvill plays number 1 for WP U14A and after the IPT, she was announced as one of the top ten SA Schools players!
HOCKEY:
We had 7 Herschel girls who played for WP U18A, which qualified for the finals, but unfortunately lost in show downs after drawing 1 each with Eastern Province in regular time. They were Amber Scott, Ammaarah Hendricks, Angie Welham, India Hardie, Kayla de Waal, Na’ilah Ebrahim and Sabrina Franco.
At the conclusion of the U18A and U16A Girls Interprovincial Hockey Tournaments, SASHOC announced the South African U16 and U17 High Performance Squads. We are very proud to announce that Amy Goodwin was selected for the U16 squad and Ammaarah Hendricks, Angie Welham and Na’ilah Ebrahim were selected for the U17 squad!
Two more of our girls, Kayla de Waal and India Hardie, went on to achieve even higher honours and were selected as two of the top U18 hockey players in the country when they were announced in the SA Schools U18B Team!
We would like to congratulate all these girls on their wonderful achievements.
