It was great to welcome the girls and staff back to school for the start of Term 3!
The Prep School kicked off the term with a jam-packed assembly, where Prep Head Mrs Heidmann outlined the theme for this term: GROWTH. In addition, girls were given an overview and presentation on Nelson Mandela and the significance of Mandela Day (18 July) and how this would be celebrated by each Herschel girl.
Mrs Heidmann and Mr West also congratulated the girls selected as Monitors, Outreach and PR Prefects for the term; we wish these girls all the best as they perform their duties!
In addition, Mrs Heidmann used this opportunity to introduce two new staff members, Rev Lorna Lavarello-Smith and Mrs Angelique Claasen. Lorna replaces Sue Taylor as Reverend, and Angelique joins us as the new Prep School Admissions Secretary. We welcome them both and wish them a long and happy tenure at Herschel.
Finally, it was time to celebrate some exciting staff achievements and news. Congratulations to Chief on the birth of a baby girl in the holidays, Illouise Gauche on her engagement and Deidre Smith for completing her studies and qualifying as a teacher.
Wishing everyone a wonderful third term!
