ROEDEAN SPORTS FESTIVAL: WELL DONE TO OUR U14A OUTDOOR HOCKEY TEAM!

The U14A Outdoor Hockey team have just returned from the Roedean Sports Festival, where they competed against 23 schools from around the country! They did extremely well, winning all 5 pool matches and then beating Affies 1 nil in the quarter finals.

They then took on an incredibly talented St Mary’s Waverley team in the semi final, facing no less than 6 Southern Gauteng A representatives! Mr Scott, their coach, summed up the tough match: “It was an ugly win, but the girls displayed incredible grit, determination and character. It was a huge team effort that spoke volumes of how far they have come in a very short time!”

Finally, in a exciting, ebbing and flowing open final, they met Menlopark for the second time in the tournament, but were unfortunately beaten by 2 goals to 1!

School Song

We are assembled here in love,
We are united, we care for one another.
The greatest lesson of all is the one
That teaches us to live together, together.

Refrain:
Everyone’s a spark and in the night
Together we make a light, a fire burning bright
Ad Dei Gloriam; Inkosi mayibongwe:
To the glory of our God: this is what we believe.

In times of trouble we support
Our fellows; we are taught to be there for our friends.
And all around us, there will be
That special unity, that binds us all together.

If we come back after many years,
We will think fondly of the things that we remember,
And the friends that we made then,
These will be friends forever, forever.
